Day-by-Day Itinerary

Upon arrival in Guwahati Airport/Rly Station, pickup and star our journey towards Shillong, Meghalaya. On the way we the majestic Umiam Lake which is surrounded by beauty of mountains and greenery. Upon arrival in Shillong explore Don Bosco Musuem, Cathedral of Mary and Ward’s lake. Later proceed to hotel for check in and overnight stay.

Post breakfast early morning, we set out to explore the canyons of Meghalaya which is also known as Laitlum Grand Canyons. Laitlum is a scenic hilltop canyon in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, known for its dramatic cliffs, deep valleys and sweeping views that make it feel like the “end of the hills.” It has become a popular yet relatively serene spot near Shillong for nature lovers, photographers and trekkers seeking panoramic landscapes, misty clouds and spectacular sunrise or sunset views. The name “Laitlum” translates to “end of the hills” in Khasi, reflecting its position at the edge of steep gorges and vast rolling valleys. The viewpoint offers uninterrupted vistas of lush green hills, Wahrew valley, plunging canyons and cloud-covered slopes, often likened to a natural amphitheatre. Later return to Shillong and in the evening self-explore the Police Bazar for shopping and food.

Post breakfast early morning we star our journey towards the most remote and scenic routes of Meghalaya. Dawki is a small border town in the Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, famous for the crystal-clear Umngot (Dawki) River and its scenic Indo–Bangladesh frontier. The Umngot River is renowned for its exceptionally clear, emerald water; on calm days boats appear to float on air because the riverbed is visible from the surface. Key attractions around Dawki include the suspension bridge over the Umngot, Shnongpdeng village, Jaflong Zero Point, Byrdaw/Borhill Falls . Later proceed to Mawlynnong which is also knows Asia’s cleanest village. The village has become a part of heritage and is maintained solely by the villagers of Mawlynnong. Later drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.

Post breakfast, we set out to explore Cherrapunji, locally known as Sohra, is a hill town in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, famous for its lush landscapes, numerous waterfalls and reputation as one of the wettest places on Earth. Once in Sohra, we start our sightseeings at Nohkalikai Falls (one of India’s tallest plunge waterfalls), Seven Sisters/Nohsngithiang Falls and end at Mawsmai Cave. Later drive back to Shillong for overnight stay.

Post breakfast, we set out to explore local areas in and around Shillong like Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls and Air Force Museum. Later drive back to hotel and evening is at leisure.
